The most popular character this year is pictured above. Mario costumes have flooded shelves of nearly every store offering Halloween costumes. Certain specialty stores like Party City even offer the female version of the Mario costume. Princess Peach, 'Sexy' Princess Peach, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, and female Luigi costumes are also available.

Although its great that pretty much any main Mario character and other video game character costumes are available for purchase, the best costumes - or cosplays - are homemade.
One day, I too shall have a family cosplay. My three prospective children will be the original starter Pokemon, I Pikachu, and my husband Ash. It's going to happen.
